On May 16, 2026, VYAS successfully held the second session of its Charity Fencing Experience Camp as part of the Youth Interest Exploration Program (IEP). Led by Leader James Chen, the program welcomed children and youth, including those with special needs, to experience fencing in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment.
Throughout the session, participants learned fundamental fencing techniques while taking part in interactive games and team-based activities designed to develop coordination, focus, and communication skills. As children became more familiar with the sport, many showed greater confidence in trying new challenges, actively participating in activities, and supporting one another throughout the experience.
VYAS youth volunteers played an important role by assisting with activity coordination, guiding participants, and offering encouragement throughout the program. Their patience and dedication helped create an inclusive atmosphere where every child felt supported. Through the Youth Interest Exploration Program, VYAS continues to provide meaningful opportunities for children and youth with special needs to discover new interests, build confidence, and participate more actively in their community.
