On June 20, 2026, VYAS youth volunteers joined children and families in the Hooves & Hearts Project at R.J. T. Farm, where participants enjoyed an afternoon of outdoor learning, hands-on activities, and meaningful interactions with nature. The event provided a welcoming environment for children, including those with special needs, to explore the farm and experience a variety of engaging activities.

Throughout the program, participants prepared fruit baskets for the farm animals, learned about different animals and their care, took part in animal-themed educational games, and designed personalized horseshoes as creative keepsakes. VYAS volunteers accompanied children throughout the activities, offering encouragement and support while helping to create an inclusive and enjoyable experience for every participant.

More than a farm visit, the program encouraged children to develop compassion, responsibility, and respect for animals through hands-on learning and shared experiences. By participating alongside volunteers and families, children had the opportunity to build confidence, strengthen social connections, and create lasting memories. VYAS remains committed to supporting inclusive community programs that inspire learning, personal growth, and meaningful participation through experiential activities.
