On June 27, 2026, VYAS volunteers participated in a community volunteer service event, supporting both event operations and the continued development of the Starlight Bookshop. Throughout the day, volunteers assisted with venue setup, on-site coordination, and other event logistics to help ensure activities ran smoothly.

In addition to supporting the event, volunteers spent time organizing and arranging donated books at the Starlight Bookshop. Books were carefully sorted by category and displayed to create a welcoming, accessible, and well-organized reading space for children, youth, and families. Their efforts helped improve the overall experience for visitors while laying the foundation for future community literacy initiatives.

Beyond completing practical tasks, the activity provided valuable opportunities for volunteers to strengthen their teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.  VYAS remains committed to creating opportunities for young people to serve their communities through hands-on volunteer experiences that foster leadership, responsibility, and compassion. Initiatives such as the Starlight Bookshop provide youth with meaningful ways to make a positive impact while helping build a more connected and caring community.
