Bringing Hope and Love: A Heartwarming Visit to Gemma's Home

On the afternoon of November 18, 2022, we visited Gemma's home. Walking into her room, we saw her lying half on the bed with her wheelchair, breathing machine, and monitoring equipment next to her. It made us realize how different her life is from that of an average person. Despite her difficult situation, she still perseveres in going to school and pursuing her interests in coding, reading, and drawing. Although she has difficulty speaking, she continued to interact with us, occasionally giving a thumbs-up to express her joy and gratitude. We presented her with the love-filled cards and gifts that everyone had prepared, as well as the funds raised through the charity sale. We hope that brave Gemma can successfully complete her surgery, and use her inner confidence and strength to inspire more peers. This is the purpose of VYAS. We will continue to stand by the families of young patients, walking with them through their difficult journeys.
